You don't need to attend an Open Morning or Taster Day before auditioning—but we'd always recommend it if you're still deciding whether Artemis is the right fit for you.

Our auditions are designed to be welcoming, supportive and enjoyable.

We're not looking for perfection—we're looking for potential.

Throughout your audition you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills, meet members of our teaching team and experience the friendly, encouraging atmosphere that makes Artemis unique.

Audition Requirements

  • For the Musical Theatre Course

    Singing – Prepare one minute of a musical theatre song that suits your casting and showcases your vocal ability.

    Acting – Perform a one-minute contemporary monologue from a published play.

    Workshops – On the day, you will also take part in a jazz dance workshop and an acting workshop.

  • For the Dance Course

    Solo Dance – Prepare a one-minute routine in your strongest dance style. Ideally, this should contrast with the musical theatre jazz routine you’ll learn on the day.

    Workshops – You will take part in a jazz dance workshop and a technical dance workshop as part of the audition process.

  • For the Acting Course

    Monologues – Prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues from a published play, film, or television programme. Choose pieces that showcase your versatility by highlighting different characters or emotions.

    Workshop – On the day, you will also take part in an acting workshop.

Book an audition

Please select either the Dance Course, the Musical Theatre Course, the Acting Course, or the Gap Year Level 4 application.

We charge a £10 booking fee to audition for Artemis College. If you are successful in gaining a place, this is taken off the cost of your uniform. Please note we do not refund for cancelled auditions, however you can swap to a different audition slot at no extra charge as long as you email us more than seven days in advance.

Outcomes

  • Offer

    Congratulations! We'll offer you a conditional place at Artemis, subject to meeting our entry requirements (including GCSE outcomes where applicable). We'll send you everything you need to accept your offer and prepare for September.

  • Recall

    We've seen great potential and would like to see you again before making a final decision. You'll be invited to attend one of our Recall Days, where you'll take part in further practical classes and activities. We'll also provide feedback from your initial audition to help you prepare.

  • Reserve List

    We'd like to keep your application under consideration while we continue to build our September cohort. This may be because we're still assessing applicants or because places are currently limited. If we're able to make further offers, we'll review our wait list and contact suitable applicants as soon as possible.

  • Decline

    Unfortunately, we're unable to offer you a place on this occasion. We know this may be disappointing, but we appreciate the time and effort you've put into your audition and wish you every success in your future training.

Following your audition, you'll receive one of four outcomes: an offer, a recall invitation, a place on our wait list, or a decline. We'll explain your outcome clearly and keep you informed throughout the admissions process.
